also hi
Hola
is it just guns or can it be other toys that resemble real weapons?
Hmm.. you mean like fake axes and swords and stuff? Yeah - I gotta admit, they instill similar fear. But I guess it seems less worrying cause projectile-firing weapons are harder to defend against.
I wonder if this is in any way related to that thing where you can trick your brain into reacting to falsified stimuli - like where you can fool the brain into temporarily thinking that a fake hand is your own, and therefore react to the fake hand being cut. But instead, this is long-term conditioning towards subconsciously fearing weapon shapes/the idea of weapons, regardless of being aware that they are not real and therefore not lethal.
I witnessed something bad that involved guns when I was a kid, which I'm not gonna go into here on my profile. But that's probably got something to do with it. And yet I have no problem shooting guns at the firing range. Toy guns just freak me out is all. Hell.. I won't even look down the end of a garden hose for the same reason, and I figure the worst that would come out of that is a blast of stale water and maybe some bugs. lol
Oi Joy. I don't think something like this will help you out any either... even if it is well drawn...
